Prysmian, as a member of the Romanian Fiber Optic Association, is actively involved in the ECERT project – Experts and Centers of Excellence in Telecommunications Networks – which aims to support the professional training of students in telecommunication high schools in the country. This project aims to introduce a new subject – Optical Fiber Networks – in 10 high schools in the country starting in September 2023 and to organize fiber optic splicer courses for students so that they are properly prepared for the future in the telecommunications field.

Prysmian has prepared a professional kit for the teachers of Gheorghe Airinei Technical College of Posts and Telecommunications, Bucharest, which includes fiber optic cable samples and installation instructions, closures, digital fiber optic information, brochures, thus providing them with proper and up-to-date fiber optic training.

In addition, in September, Prysmian Group will organize a workshop with teachers at the Slatina plant, Milcov, to introduce them to the company's products and production processes. This is a valuable opportunity for teachers to learn more about the company's innovative products and solutions, as well as to discuss the needs of the fiber optic market and the importance of proper professional training.

The ECERT project endorsed by the AFOR – Romanian Fiber Optics Association together with WorldSkills Romania aims to organize the first WorldSkills National Olympiad for high school students preparing for the profession of Fiber Optics Junction in March 2024. After this, a selected national team will represent Romania in September 2024 at the WorldSkills Lyon 2024 International Crafts Olympiad, Information Network Cabling section.

Prysmian Group remains committed to supporting professional training in the field of fiber optics and contributing to the development of future generations of specialists in this field to ensure a sustainable and successful future in the telecommunications industry.
